A laboratory for collective listening and creation using cassette tapes and radios

Taking the form of an “exquisite corpse”, the workshop uses cassette tape as a physical medium for sharing musical biographies and memories, and as a means of mediation through collective listening, editing and tape assembly. The recorded materials are then used in a live radio broadcast.

“The music was dying and I was recording the death of that melody.”

William Basinski, on The Disintegration Loops.
