«Meditation faite sur ma mort future, la quelle se joüe lentement avec discretion»

A sound installation and archive containing recordings of the infrasound produced by the heartbeats of people I love and who will one day die

Dedicated, from the heart, to Miguel Ángel García ❦

“As if my survival were somehow necessary”

Friedrich Nietzsche

All the recordings were made with a geophone, a microphone that is highly sensitive to very low frequencies. Its frequency response begins at 10 Hz, while human hearing begins at around 20 Hz: the recordings extend beyond our capacity to hear, though not beyond our capacity to feel. The installation has been conceived to offer an extremely subtle and delicate listening experience.

Listening depends entirely on you.
