Presentation of the “Horizontal Listening” project

In collaboration with artist Marta Bisbal for the Torre Vicens Secondary School (Lleida), as part of the En Residència programme and at La Panera Documentation Centre (Lleida)

One of the most intense moments of the morning was the conversation with Mikel R. Nieto, a sound artist and resident at La Panera. He explained how he works with listening as a sociopolitical and creative act, often through field recordings and proposals that transform sound into critical thought.

Most beautiful was the very clear idea he conveyed to the students: listening is not passive. It can be a way of attending to the world, caring for it and caring for ourselves.

Thanks to La Panera for opening its doors to us and, especially, to Mikel R. Nieto for such an inspiring conversation. It truly was an enriching experience, one of those that leaves a mark and awakens the desire to continue creating.

Event carried out in collaboration with La Panera (Lleida) and with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture within the “Public Grants for the Creation, Research and Production of Artistic Projects in Residence” (2025).
